The arena was dark with a spotlight on singer, Kari Jobe. The stage lit up with colorful lights, and you could see a faint silhouette of her band members. She began to sing “We Are” and one-by-one women across the arena turned on their cell phones. The twinkling lights pierced the darkness in one accord. We are the light of the world, and I was surrounded by women of faith.
(I attended my first Women of Faith conference in 2000. I recently attended the Women of Faith, “Believe God Can Do Anything” tour, in Sacramento, California. Women are still passionate about Jesus Christ, and women are still believing God–for the impossible.)
Here are some highlights:
Christine Caine, an author and founder of The A21 Campaign, made this humorous statement, “We need a “but” reduction!” I laughed but at the same time, my heart grieved. I didn’t want to live a life full of excuses, but rather, full of expectations.
Interesting how we can embrace the word “empower” in today’s culture as long as we’re empowering ourselves. God is the only one who can empower us by bringing “His super” to our natural, and He escorts us into His supernatural.
They have experienced struggles just like you and me. They are sojourners, living for such a time as this and waiting for the day Christ returns. At the conference, Natalie Grant shared how her struggle with depression inspired her latest album, Hurricane. Here’s an interview that tells her story.
If you’ve never heard of sand animation, you need to experience Mark Demel at SandandLight.com. Women worshiped by remembering the redemptive plan of God. There was a reverent hush as the audience watched Mark tell an inspiring story through sand art.
The lovely Roma Downey spoke about her movie project, “Son of God” scheduled to be released on February 28th, 2014. Please pray that this movie will offer hope to the hopeless and surpass the success of The Bible Series.

It’s easy to sponsor and personally connect with a child through World Vision. We can make a life-changing difference and offer hope through World Vision.
The A21 Campaign
Christine Caine, with the help of ordinary individuals, is on a quest to abolish the injustice of human trafficking. All things are possible with God. It’s time to get involved and end slavery. Visit The A21 Campaign for more information.
Women of Faith
What made this conference special was the gathering of faith-filled women, but we don’t have to gather in an arena. We can find fellowship through community. Together as Women of Faith, we can encourage one another and make a difference.
