Have you ever felt starstruck by a public figure? Perhaps it was an actor or singer? How about an athlete or a famous author? What would you do if that person walked into your room?
Remembering Memorable Moments
I felt starstruck when I met New York Times Bestselling Author, Lysa Terkeurst. If you’re a Christian woman, no doubt you’ve read one or all of her inspiring books—her latest, Uninvited.
I wanted to make sure I captured the moment with a photo. I grabbed an unsuspecting stranger to take a picture. “Would you please take a quick picture of Lysa and me?” I asked.
“Sure,” she agreed and took a picture.
“Wait,” I said. “Let me make sure it’s not blurry.” I squinted to review the photo, “Hmmm, can you take another one?”
Poor Lysa patiently waited until my enlisted photographer took four or five snapshots. My one picture turned into a photoshoot, but Lysa never stopped smiling. That day was a memorable moment, but perhaps less memorable for Lysa.
Anticipating Memorable Moments
There’s one public figure that has been globally cheered and jeered—welcomed and rejected. It’s a person completely transparent about His story and plan. He comes to every heart’s door—waiting. What would you do if you could physically see Jesus Christ? What would you do if He walked into your room, today?
The thought occurred to me after praying, Lord, help me experience more of your presence. If Jesus physically walked into my room, I wonder if I’d assume a spiritual posture, and for once, become speechless. Doubtful.
When a church sermon is powerful, I respond, “Amen!” It’s not until heads turn that I think, Oops, was that too loud? When the minister says, “…bow your heads and with every eye closed…,” I peek! I often react in unconventional ways. What would I do if Jesus walked into my room?
I would probably say, “Hello?”
Maybe I’d say, “I can’t believe it’s you! And then think, Am I dead?”
Would I offer hospitality? In Biblical days, they washed their guest’s feet and offered food. But maybe Jesus would come wearing jeans and tennis shoes.
Perhaps, everything would become insignificant as I gazed upon Jesus’ face. Like a photo with a blurred background that accentuated the crystal-clear focus of its main subject.
I hope I would listen intently—hang on every word. Maybe, I’d ask questions. I’d find out how I could make his stay more comfortable. Of course, I’d have to snap a selfie.
Experiencing Memorable Moments
After minutes of Jesus dreaming, the Holy Spirit reminded me that Jesus doesn’t walk into a room. He doesn’t have to; He’s already there. Jesus never leaves us.
I closed my eyes and rested in His presence. We went for a walk; we talked. His love warmed my soul. My heart flooded with gratitude for the plan that provided a relationship with the creator of the universe. May my life be unbroken moments of worship

What if we were more aware of God’s presence?
Through the help of the Holy Spirit, Jesus alters our state, jolts our reality, and His divine presence creates supernatural memorable moments. Jesus is ready to experience another memorable moment with you. He lives among us, and He is eager to have a deeper relationship with you. Today, may we have unbroken memorable moments of worship.
“Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.”
