Hope Lights Dark Days

I took a brisk walk early one morning. Since autumn days are shorter, the sun had postponed its arrival, and it was a dark day.

As I walked through the darkness, I realized there was no evidence of morning. There wasn’t a hint of light on the horizon or chipping birds breaking the silence. Although the sun wasn’t visible, its presence illuminated the moon, and I knew it would soon be dawn. It was only a matter of time before the light would pierce the darkness.

In the same manner, when we sometimes find ourselves living through dark days, Jesus Christ is present illuminating our way. He is our hope for a spiritual dawn. He will pierce our darkest day through His Word and His Holy Spirit. Dark days can try to obscure our path, but His light directs our steps.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path

(New American Standard Bible, Psalm 119:105)

God’s Word is our spiritual lamp. It builds our faith and drives out fear. We find ourselves written within the pages of this precious book, and we discover supernatural love waiting to embrace us. We find our way through darkness reading relevant passages written long ago. We find peace and fellowship with our Holy God. We find endless hope in Jesus Christ.

Have a blessed weekend.
