When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes, (Matthew 7:28-29 New American Standard Bible).
First, the crowd listened, and then, they were amazed. This passage reminded me that listening, really listening to God’s voice, will lead us toward a consistent path of amazement and wonder.
How do we hear his voice? Don’t underestimate Him, He’s everywhere. He speaks through His Word, during prayer, in worship music, shopping, driving, and where you least expect it. God is amazing. If a thought comes to you and it doesn’t contradict God’s word, it may be His soft whisper encouraging you.
Have a blessed week.
